New Master-Planned Community is Coming from Developer of Wendell Falls
Brookfield Properties, the creators of Wendell Falls, has acquired 458 acres in the growing community of Wendell with plans to create its next highly sought-after living destination.
When complete, the community will include approximately 1800 single-family and multi-family homes. It will be designed to include open spaces, public parks, trails that connect to nearby communities and other amenities to meet the needs of those who will live there.
“With our success at Wendell Falls and the increased demand for housing in this part of Wake County, we are excited to create and provide a new community for those who crave putting down roots in a place that will evoke the spirit of a favorite summer retreat,” said Tanya Matzen, Senior Vice President, Brookfield Properties. “We are dedicated to creating another thoughtfully designed community that gives residents modern conveniences coupled with ample opportunities to connect with neighbors and nature in their daily lives.”
Brookfield Properties will follow a development process influenced by the existing elements of the land, most notably a central lake and the Little River that runs alongside the property. Details of the community development, including timelines, community name, builders and amenities, are being finalized and will be publicized in time.
This new community will be owned in a joint venture partnership between North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH) and Brookfield Properties and managed by Brookfield Properties. The partners share a deep commitment to sustainable development practices and apply these core values to the vision, planning and development of their communities. This will be their second joint venture in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area with the first being Wendell Falls -- one of more than 20 communities this partnership manages together across the U.S.
Wendell Falls has become an incredibly desirable place to live since it opened in May of 2015. The sustainably focused, 1,100-acre community includes nearly 273 acres of preserved open space, 10+ miles of trails, numerous parks and playgrounds, resort-style pools and waterparks, outdoor fit pods, a 24/7 fitness center and The Farmhouse Café, a popular community gathering place, and Treelight Square, a retail and dining destination. A limited number of homes remain available. For more information, visit www.wendellfalls.com.
